This is the privacy policy of the Startup 100 website (startup100.net) and service. In this document we will provide information about our service and how we treat your information. The information you give us may affect your rights, so please read this document carefully!
The service providers of the Startup 100 website are San Francisco Oy (San Francisco Oy (The Agency), Business ID 2296311-5, Eerikinkatu 28, 00180 Helsinki, Suomi FINLAND) and the Startup 100 association. (“Service Provider”)
1. Startup 100 in a Nutshell
Startup 100 is a service which ranks Finnish startups based on their online marketing activities and performance, which also enables startups to advertise their open job positions on the website and for a fee to advertise those positions on the website (“Service”). Startups using the website authorize the Service Provider to
- List the startup on the Service
- Rank it using the Service Provider’s metrics
- To compare the startup to other startups on the Service
In addition, the Service is open for media and investors.
The Service Provider monitors the use of the Service with e.g. Google Analytics. In addition, the Service may use other means of monitoring. Service Provider may store data and information on servers which are located outside the EU.
We are committed to protecting the privacy of the users of our Service and we will not disclose information to third parties, except for payment processing or for job application purposes.
2. Handling of Data and Data Protection
The Service is based on the data the users of Service enter. The use of the Service is aimed at comparing and advertising startups. The Service Provider is committed to the protection of the data.
The Service Provider collects and processes data in order to enable the Service and to compare startups.
The Service Provider may also use the information to send bulletins and newsletters by e-mail.
The Service Provider is authorized by the user to publish the data on the Service. Service Provider may disclose the users’ identifiable information to a third party payment processing service. In addition, information may be disclosed to competent authorities by a court order.
Service Provider does not inspect or verify the data provided by the user.
The data file is located on a data cloud service which is heavily encrypted by technical means. The stored information is only accessible by the staff of the Service Provider.

3. Collected Information and Data Sources
The Service Provider stores the following information for each startup:
- E-mail address of the startup
- Name of the startup
- Finnish business ID of the startup
- Description of the startup
- Website (URL) of the startup
- Social media URLs for each social media service the startup uses
The above information the Service Provider receives from the users of the Service. In addition, the Service Provider stores the following information:
- The monthly rank of the startup
- How the rank has changed from last month
- Startup100 index number of the startup
- How the index number has changed from last month
- The index rank of the startup
- The category of the startup (e.g. business software, e-commerce, games)
The above information the Service Provider receives by compiling the information the startup has provided and from third party sources.
4. Cookies
In order to monitor and enable the use of the Service, the Service may from time to time install “cookies” on the user’s browser. The cookies are used to collect some of the information specified in this Privacy Policy for reasons specified in this Privacy Policy. In addition, Service Provider uses the information collected by cookies to monitor the amount of visitors and page views of the Service and to determine the browser types used to access the Service. The Service Provider may also used third party partners (Google Analytics) to analyze this data.

5. Our Cookies
